Here
is a brief description of the volunteer jobs:
Anything :-)
- For those of you who are true volunteers, if you sign up for Anything, you can
be placed into any one of these categories, wherever you are most needed.
Fence
Judge - This job gets you a front-row
seat at a Cross Country fence so you can watch all the
riders go by! Lots of fun! We will instruct you in a
basic understanding of the Cross Country rules, and how to determine if a horse
is presented to an obstacle.
Hospitality - We always need help making
sure our guest, volunteers and staff fed and watered
throughout the day.
Pre-Event Setup - As you can imagine,
getting everything in place is an important part of having a successful event.
With the pre-event setup team, you get to see behind the scenes. Tasks include
setting up dressage rings, stadium jumping fences, tents, banners, and stabling.
Post-Event Cleanup - Cleanup crews break down the various tents, signs and
help pack everything away, in preparation for next year.
Dressage - We need ring
stewards, scribes, warm-up stewards, bit checkers and runners.
Stabling: Horse Arrival / Assistance -
As the horses and trailers arrive, there is a great need to keep the stabling
area organized and accessible. Volunteers may also help with hay, shavings,
water..
Parking - Parking
can become congested. Parking volunteers are always needed to help direct
traffic and keep the roads open for emergency equipment (which we hopefully
will never need).
